Location of this apartment is the best feature...it is within walking distance of restaurants, shops, museums, Vondelpark, canal cruises, and the tram line. In close proximity to a busy nightlife area, it can get noisy at night but on the fourth floor the sound is somewhat diminished. The apartment itself had adequate space for our party of 5 (one married couple and 3 singles). The bathroom fixtures and kitchen appliances appeared fairly new. The stairs to the fourth floor were daunting at first but after a few trips up and down, it seemed a much easier climb. The owner was friendly and polite. He made taxi arrangements for our arrival and departure at a reasonable rate.

Just stayed here last week. This is a great location right off the Tram line. If you are coming in from the airport, you can catch a cab (owner has arrangement with cab service to meet you at the airport - holding a sign with your name) or you can take the train to the central station then take the tram. There are approximately 50 restaurants and bars in the 3 block radius. Walking distrance to Dam Square, Anne Frank, Van Gogh museum, etc. This is a nightlife spot. So if you are looking for a quiet spot, this is not the ideal place. If you are looking to be close to the party spot, your found it. I am an average sleeper and was on the 4th floor. I was fine with the street level noise. If on the first floor, you'll be much closer to the partying. We had 5 in our group. Place is good for 5. It will sleep 7, but cozy (think college).

Contrary to the advertisement, there was NO clothes dryer. There was NO hairdryer. Also, there was NO secure WiFi that we could locate. The miniature washing machine took hours to wash our clothing. The first load became stinky because of stale water left in the washer. The couches were smelly and are in need of deep cleaning. Avoid sitting upon or sleeping on the couches. The shower area presented a safety hazard as the tiles became quite slippery when wet. There is NO non-slip gripping located on the shower floor, so be aware of that danger. If there are other occupants in the building's other apartments, it can get very loud as there is very little soundproofing. Keep in mind that an establishment called the Bamboo Bar is located almost directly below the apartment's front windows, so the party noise travels upwards during the wee hours of the morning, especially on Friday and Saturday. So, if the owner asks you to move to another unit (like Unit 1 or 2), refuse his request. However, if convenience and a central location are your primary criterions, then this apartment will meet those requirements.
