Cerberus is an old houseboat located right in the city centre. You find the boat in one of Amsterdam’s larger canals, called the ‘Singel’. A five minutes walk takes you to Amsterdam Central Station, Dam Square, the Anne Frank House and nearly all the other tourist attractions. Cerberus is no five star hotel but it is the ideal cheap relaxing holiday accommodation for small groups of friends or backpackers, who do not mind sharing a bedroom. The kitchen and bathroom are shared with the friendly owner who has a bedroom in his private quarters. The owner is a qualified guide who has lived in Amsterdam for over 15 years and is more than happy to tell you all about it. Children, pets and country music are not allowed, with the exception of Johnny Cash.

Cerberus is by no means luxurious but it has all the basic amenities. The guests have their own entrance. A small corridor gives access to the colorful bedroom, shared bathroom with shower and toilet and the kitchen. The bedroom is furnished with two nice and clean bunk beds, sleeping four, a little desk with PC with free high speed access to the internet and a stereo. There are plenty of games in your room like table-football (foosball), air-hockey, pool, roulette and many more. Guests also have full use of the kitchen with an oven, fridge, microwave and perhaps most important of all a dishwasher. You can make your own coffee and tea (free of charge) and also use the washing machine. When the weather is nice you can relax on the roof terrace and catch a tan or just watch all the people sailing, rowing or walking by.

This accommodation requires a minimum stay of 4 nights during new year!

be relaxed with the owner and he\'s totally relaxed with you; he\'ll tell you to come and go as you please and enjoy your time. The room itself is well sized for 4 people, with comfortable beds, a kitchen and hot shower (sheets/towels provided). There are also small speakers you can use with your mp3/cd player (computer plays CD\'s but the internet was down at the time), alarmclock/radio, table football (foosball), and even multiple mood lights (dimmer switches on some) to help set the ambiance for a night in. Being right arround the corner from late-night snack shop is also pretty good. Both the owner of the boat and the guys at Hotel Brian (across the street) are knowledgable of places to get to if you want some insider information before just wandering around. Definitely a great place to stay.

We had a perfect houseboat. Thanks to the owner we could check in late in the evening. The boat was very cosy and warm, you have an amazing view when you wake up in the morning. Yes, We had a lovely time here during our holiday in Amsterdam. Everything is close by; supermarket, coffeeshops , restaurants and a really good butcher next door! Next time we Will book this boat again.
